Come as you are, or anything from a bowling shirt to to a cocktail dress. Or, take it to the limit!
Here are some suggestions:
For Men:
- Classic Suits: Think sharp, tailored suits in black, gray, or navy. A well-fitted suit with a white dress shirt and a skinny tie or bow tie is essential.
- Tuxedos: For a more formal look, opt for a classic tuxedo with a black bow tie and a cummerbund or waistcoat.
- Fedoras or Trilby Hats: Complete the look with a stylish fedora or trilby hat, often tilted at a rakish angle.
- Elegant Dresses: Choose glamorous cocktail dresses or evening gowns in classic styles. A-line or sheath dresses in black, red, or metallic tones work well.
- Vintage Accessories: Add a touch of vintage glamour with pearl necklaces, brooches, and satin gloves.
- Fur Stoles or Shawls: For an extra touch of sophistication, wear a faux fur stole or shawl.
- Retro Hairstyles and Makeup: Opt for classic hairstyles like victory rolls, pin curls, or beehives, and don makeup reminiscent of the era—think winged eyeliner and red lipstick.
- Coordinated Outfits: Couples can coordinate their outfits for a harmonious look. A man in a sharp suit and a woman in a complementary cocktail dress can make a striking pair.
- Famous Duo Costumes: Consider dressing up as famous Rat Pack couples or characters from the era, such as Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner.
- Sophistication and Glamour: The key to a Rat Pack themed party is to exude the sophistication and glamour of the 1950s and 1960s.
- Attention to Detail: Pay attention to the small details, like matching your tie with your pocket square or choosing vintage-inspired jewelry.
